Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an insurance policy that is sometimes included in the rental price. This insurance limits the customer's liability during the hire period and establishes the maximum amount the customer will be obliged to pay in the event of damage. Theft cover (or TP for short) is an insurance policy that limits your liability up to the amount of the excess if the vehicle is stolen. To fulfil the conditions of TP, you usually need to provide a police report and the keys to the vehicle. TP is often included in the rental price. For more information, see the rental conditions.
The excess is the maximum amount that the customer must pay in the event of theft or damage to the rental vehicle (provided they comply with the conditions set out in their rental agreement).

Orbita Rent a Car's ‘one way’ service allows you to pick up your vehicle at one of our rental agencies throughout the country and return it to a different city at the end of your journey. It's quick, easy and effective. What's more, it allows you to plan your journey exactly as you want it, without having to end up where you started. Subject to prior confirmation and payment of an extra fee.
When renting a car, the driver must present a valid driving licence, identity card or passport and tax number. To hire a car, the minimum age is 21, with 1 year's driving experience.
The rented vehicle can be driven by more than one driver (additional-extra driver) who will be charged an additional fee. Applicable to everyone with a licence that has been valid in Portugal for more than 1 year and is 21 years old.
Orbita rent a car allows drivers under the age of 21 with a 1-year licence for an extra fee.
Orbita offers a pick-up and drop-off service from hotels or other locations, upon request and prior confirmation, for an extra fee.
Orbita authorises leaving the country for an extra fee. Concealment by the renter means that any costs outside Portugal are the responsibility of the renter.
The vehicle must be returned in a clean condition similar to that at the time of delivery. If cleaning is necessary, it will be charged.
Orbita can provide a baby seat or booster seat if requested in advance.

Orbita can provide GPS devices since they are asked beforehand.
Orbita considers 600kms per day for rentals of up to 6 days. For monthly rentals, a maximum of 2000 kilometres is taken into account for smart and commercial vehicles and 3000 kilometres for other vehicles. The excess will be charged per extra kilometre.
Pre-confirmed bookings can be cancelled free of charge if they are made more than 49 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours will be charged 50% of the rental price. Cancellations of 24 hours or less or no-shows will be charged the full amount of the rental.
Orbita reserves the right to cancel the credit facilities granted in the event of non-compliance on the part of the customer, namely failure to pay within the established deadlines or exceeding credit limits. The payment deadline for rental invoices is 30 days from the date of issue. Orbita reserves the right to charge interest on arrears at the legal rate in force in the event of default on the part of the customer, in accordance with decree no. 587/2005 published in the Diário da Republica, 1st series-B, no. 137, of 19 July 2005.
